What it can help?
Hypnotherapy can help us with many things in our lives, it can help us give up smoking, it can help us lose weight. It can help us become more confident within ourselves and enable us to attain the goals we set in our lives.
We can also be regressed to an earlier age of life to sort out problems from the past, so that you can let go of past problems, then rebuild your confidence and self esteem.
Another useful way to use Hypnosis is to help with learning for exams, or learning lines for a play. It can take away the stress factor and allow you to relax, making it easier to recall knowledge.
Phobias, whether they be a fear of spiders, a fear of heights or a fear of open spaces. Obsessions, with cleanliness, with shopping or obsessed with someone.
Basically it will help remove all anxieties that appear in our everyday lives.
All the above conditions and a lot more can be helped with Hypnosis.
What is it?
Hypnosis is a light trance state which is obtained by suggestion and imagery. With suggestion I can introduce behavioural changes to improve your life.
When you come along for a Hypnotherapy session, you will have a choice of a couch or a recliner chair, whichever you feel most comfortable with.
You will be asked questions about what you want to achieve from the sessions, to enable me to ascertain what is needed.
You will remain conscious and aware at all times during the Hypnosis and you can come out of the state of Hypnosis at any time if you decide to do so. I will not Hypnotise you, you Hypnotise yourself. You remain in complete control, I am only there to guide you. Many people under Hypnosis feel that it has not worked on them because they do not feel Hypnotised, but I can assure you it does work.
Hypnosis works with the subconscious mind, the subconscious mind knows instictively what is best for you. When you are a baby the subconscious mind knows how to breathe, it knows when to cry, when you are hungry and it knows how to keep your vital organs working. As we get older this sense becomes clouded by all sorts of things. Hypnosis can help to bring the subconscious mind back into play by reprogramming, so that your subconcious mind will do what is good for you and your body.
What does a session consist of?
Firstly, I will ask you some questions regarding yourself and the problem you are seeking to resolve. This helps me build a picture of what is required in your hypnotic state. I will also explain how the hypnosis will be done, so that you are totally aware of what will take place. I will have very quiet gentle music playing in the background whilst hypnosis is taking place, this helps with the relaxation.
I will then ask you to get into a comfortable position ready for hypnosis. The first process is to do an induction, which means inducing a state of hypnosis by the use of words and suggestion. The second process is what we call a deepener, which is exactly what it sounds like, just taking you into a deeper state of hypnosis by taking you on a guided journey. The third process is where I will endeavour to change the things you want changed, whether it be behaviour, habits, fears, confidence etc. Finally, I will slowly bring you back to a conscious state. You will have total recall of what was said and done, unless you wish otherwise.
