Malcolm and Sue are Reiki Masters of the Usui Shiki Ryoho system of healing. Reiki is a natural healing system that has been practised for centuries and passed on through generations of Reiki Practitioners. All healing work is based on the Life Force Energy.
All healing is complementary to that which may be prescribed by a medical practitioner, and as advised previously should be used in conjunction with and not in replacement of any medication or treatment prescribed. Reiki has helped in virtually all types of illness and injury. It will speed up recovery and the healing process of the body. It reduces stress and improves positivity. Reiki is a holistic treatment that heals the mind, body and spirit, suitable for men, women, children and family pets, it will not harm you in any way.
THE ORIGIN OF REIKI
Reiki is a laying on of hands healing technique, which is thousands of years old. It is thought to have originated as a Tibetan Buddhist practice, that was re-discovered in the 1800’s by Dr. Mikao Usui, a Japanese Buddhist. It is an extremely powerful but simple technique. The word ‘Reiki’ is made up of two words in Japanese Rei and Ki ( pronounced Ray-Key ).
REI – “Spiritual Wisdom”. Higher intelligence which guides the creation and functioning of the Universe what most people would call God.
KI – “The Life Force”. A vapour or mist, non-physical energy that animates all living things. Ki means the same as “Chi” in Chinese and “Prana” in Sanskrit.
HOW DOES REIKI HEAL?
We all have in our physical body an energy called “Life Force” which flows through our Chakras, meridians and nadis. We all have an “Aura” which is a “Life Force” energy that surrounds our body. This “Life Force” supports the bodies vital functions and nourishes the cells and organs of the body. If the “Life Force” is disrupted the organs and tissues of the body can become less functional. The Life Force” can be adversely affected by negative thought or feelings about ourselves and can affect the flow of “Life Force”. Reiki heals by re-charging the affected parts of the body with positive energy. It will also raise the vibratory level of the “Aura” (energy field) around the physical body.
The effects of a Reiki treatment are as follows:-
Balances the energy
Increases awareness
Heals the whole person
Amplifies energy
Works on causal level of disease
Releases stress
Helps the release of emotions
Increases creativity
The Reiki practitioner is not responsible for generating this healing energy. The energy is channelled by higher spiritual forces through the practitioner to the patient. A study in the USA states that children were submitted to 434 negative messages a day and only 23 positive ones. Therefore it is not surprising that our energy flow becomes negative.
WHAT CAN REIKI HELP?
Firstly, any type of healing is complementary to the Medical Profession and not to be used as an alternative to proper medical advice given by your own GP. If you are being treated by your doctor for a health condition, Reiki will improve the results and lessen negative side effects, eliminate or reduce pain, reduce stress and shorten healing time. Reiki is gentle but powerful and in its many years of being practised it has helped with nearly every known injury or illness. It will increase the effectiveness of all other therapies and a treatment will leave you with a wonderful glowing feeling of well being. The practitioner will spend a few minutes talking with you to explain the process and answer any questions the patient may want to ask. The patient will then be made comfortable in a lying or sitting position, whichever they feel most comfortable with. The Reiki practitioner will take a few moments to become one with the consciousness of Reiki and will then begin the treatment. The practitioner will then use different hand positions, starting with your head and gradually working through the whole body. This can be done with the hands not touching the body if the patient so wishes. At the end of the session the patient will have an opportunity to ask any further questions, or to tell the practitioner what they felt during the session.
